It’s no secret that prime wedding weather happens to fall upon the heart of Ohio between September and November. Fall here is quite literally nature’s way of saying, “I’ve been saving up all year to look this good for your wedding day.” And as a photographer myself, I truly adore the rich autumn tones, crisp air, and the indoor-outdoor capability of a fall wedding in Ohio.
Choosing the perfect fall venue comes with a million questions. How many guests can fit? How is the foliage this time of year? Is there an indoor location in case of inclement weather? You get the idea. So if you want a wedding that’s elegant, authentic, and photogenic from every angle, these venues are where the magic happens.
Jorgensen – Oak Grove
$$$ | Westerville, Ohio
Think woodland fairytale but make it slightly industrial, and slick. Jorgensen Farms offers two unique wedding properties (Oak Grove and The Gardens) and while both are stunning, Oak Grove takes the cake (imo) for the peak fall wedding location.
The greenhouse is surrounded by glass paneled walls from floor to ceiling that allow for the perfect weather-proofed ceremony with ideal natural light diffused effortlessly from all sides.
The indoor reception location has a full glass wall peering out at the namesake oak tree to allow for peak fall foliage viewing while the sun sets over your reception.
The grounds are immaculately maintained and offer some of my absolute favorite angles for fall wedding photos.

Brookshire
$$ | Deleware, Ohio
If “effortlessly put-together” is your wedding vibe, Brookshire is your place.
My past couples love that it’s all-inclusive (because who wants to chase down six different vendors while planning?) and that it offers indoor and outdoor ceremony options. For an outdoor ceremony in the fall, you’d have stunning trees as your ceremony backdrop and evergreens nearby (which often serves as a great backdrop for the later months like end of November if the trees are bare). Their indoor reception area is a blank canvas that comes to life with drapery and florals to match your wedding aesthetic, and guests can enjoy the indoor-outdoor features at the bar, and outdoor fireplaces long into the night.

The Westin Great Southern Columbus
$$$ | Downtown Columbus, Ohio
Now, it’s hard to recommend a fully indoor venue in the peak fall months BUT!! I simply have to highlight this space because The Westin Hotel is a wedding venue that sparkles all year long.
The Westin’s ballroom is an iconic space in Columbus, offering rich historical nods and an effortless luxury to any wedding. The drapery, floor to ceiling windows, glass-and-gold windows and candelabras, the detailed chairs and even the lobby welcoming guests in, all take very little decor to shine.
Most couples I work with choose to do an offsite ceremony (usually at a nearby cathedral, or church) then book the Westin for the reception. If you want high-touch romance and convenience for your guests, this is your place.

The Bryn Du Mansion
$$ | Granville, Ohio
If you’ve ever wanted to live out your very own Pride and Prejudice romance, Bryn Du Mansion is your wedding venue.
Towering trees that offer perfect fall tones, sprawling lawns, and a historic mansion that gives off “Mr. Darcey might just appear and confess his love one foggy morning”. There’s a garden ceremony space, cottages along the property, several indoor and outdoor reception meals and dance floor options, all within the heart of Granville, Ohio (which is essentially "Stars Hollow" on steroids). It’s your stamp of approval from Jane Austen, Lorelai Gilmore and me ;)

Hotel Junto
$$ | Columbus, Ohio
Modern, warm, chic, and just a little bit bougie in the very best way. Hotel Junto’s rooftop views and sleek spaces are perfect for couples who love the idea of a city wedding with a cozy autumn twist.
The rooms are warm toned and designed to perfection which makes for effortless getting ready photos (no ugly hotel carpet or weird lighting, yay!!!).

Plus, they have a rooftop bar (The Brass Hand) for an after party meetup, and the coziest lobby complete with a coffee shop for morning-after bites.

Birch Manor
$ | Green County, Ohio
This one’s for the couples who love romantic films, hot cider, and a good dose of magic. Birch Manor feels like stepping into a fairytale—a 1930's brick manor surrounded by fiery foliage in the fall months and storybook charm.

I’d say this venue would be most perfect for a small-midsized guest count due to its limited indoor options. But with a tent and the autumn air, it will be unforgettable.

Jeffrey Mansion
$$ | Bexley, Ohio
Jeffrey Mansion is that effortlessly cool friend who never tries too hard—but always looks amazing??
The historic structure is in Bexley, Ohio and if the architecture wasn’t enough, there’s a wide field and surrounding park that come alive in the fall. You’ll get golden leaves, evergreens, cobblestone archways, immaculate medieval-feeling interiors, and the perfect backdrop for your wedding without leaving Columbus.

The Seventy Five Venue
$$ | Logan County, Ohio
Industrial chic + peak fall vibes = chef’s kiss.

The Seventy Five Venue is for the couple who wants bright natural lighting, a larger guest count and the unbeatable Hocking Hills view. It’s basically an elevated blank canvas with a touch of personality (like the giant chandeliers over the dance floor, a romantic bridal suite and the vibe-y groomsmen suite) so you can dress it up or leave it as is for a sparkling indoor-outdoor celebration.

Cliffside Acres
$$$ | Springfield, Ohio
Cliffside Acres is where modern elegance and countryside charm meet seamlessly (and I’d say fall makes it even more magical✨)
Surrounded by trees that explode with color, and a natural stone structure next to the creek, this venue gives you plentyyyy of space for a party. The ceremony space is a separate building with loads of natural light, the reception area is bright and spacious, and my couples love that it feels like a hidden getaway just outside the city. Definitely one of best fall wedding venues in Ohio.

Crockett’s Run
$$ | Logan County, Ohio
Crockett’s Run is the ultimate fall wedding escape for couples who want nature front and center.

Tucked into the Hocking Hills, this venue offers waterfalls, wooded trails, and views that honestly will surprise you and your guests.
In October, the trees surrounding the property basically set themselves on fire with color—you’ll have no shortage of foliage, as well as evergreens and a waterfall to highlight your day. It really feels adventurous and laid-back, for a campy-cozy Ohio fall wedding.

The Cliffs at Hocking Hills
$$ | Hocking Hills, Ohio
Can I rave enough about the Cliffs at Hocking Hills?? Let me try…

This place is everything you think it will be and more.
It’s a viral lodge for good reason, with foliage-filled views, a heated waterfall, modern spacious rooms, and highly designed interiors. If you want jaw-dropping views for your micro wedding and an unforgettable experience, I’d suggest renting out the entire lodge for a few nights, having your loved ones stay with you and plan for a meaningful micro-wedding.

The Rural Society
$$ | Mount Vernon, Ohio
The Rural Society is actually a hidden gem.
It is a bit outside the Columbus area, nestled on a working farm in Mount Vernon. This venue serves all the cozy autumn vibes—rolling fields, tree-lined paths, and barns that feel more editorial rustic than hay bales, if that makes sense.
In the fall, the landscape transforms into a palette of warm colors, complete with sheep, peacock, and corgis that freely roam the property.

✨Why These Venues Are Extra Magical in the Fall
Fall in Ohio is fleeting—one week you’re crunching leaves, the next it’s snowing (or raining, sometimes in the same day—but that sweet spot is sooooo absolutely worth it. The golden foliage, cozy textures, and superior light make these venues absolute standouts for fall wedding photography in Columbus and some of the most charming pockets of the state. Whether you’re drawn to history, charm, or more modern downtown celebration, I personally cannot wait to celebrate and see how you choose to spend your day.
