Officially filing under: the best kickoff to the summer.
Late spring/early summer weddings can be tricky to predict—especially in the midwest. For Sydney and Parker’s wedding day we ended up getting a taste of everything: a thunderstorm while getting ready, a humid afternoon, a rainy cocktail hour, hot reception sun and a full indigo sunset.
But when you’re this in love, the weather doesn’t even matter on your wedding day.
This wedding was a mix of 35mm film, digital, and a whole lot of love.
Sydney and Parker got ready on separate floors of the church. The girls, in the upstairs library surrounded by books and music and fresh flowers.
The bridesmaids build Sydney’s bouquet while the bride herself helped finalize hair and makeup on her friends.
Parker and the groomsmen finished up their preparations in the basement, adorned with matching socks, snacks, and plenty of jokes.
The couple shared a first look together to get the nerves out of the way (which I always recommend).
Then it was time for the ceremony.
These two got married at the church they met at in college, a combo of traditional architecture and industrial infrastructure, The George welcomed guests into the naturally-lit space while stained glass windows and soft rain completed the atmosphere.
After exchanging private vows, communion, and rings, the two became one.
The bridal party celebrated the couple as guests got a head start to the reception location in greater Cincinnati.
After the rain cleared, guests welcomed in the new couple to their beautiful tent reception (the perfect summer wedding set up) and witnessed their first dance, followed by heartfelt speeches, and a delicious pasta bar.
Instead of a cake cutting or a cookie table, Sydney and Parker opted for something more…them.
(and may I just say, much more delicious??)
Frozen yogurt with toppings was the dessert of choice and the Graffs gave each other their first taste before partying on the dance floor.
Cheers once again to Mr. & Mrs. Graff
